My Son - The Tempter

I have been trying to be good on my diet... for the last 24 hours. I started back up weight watchers AGAIN yesterday after a 6-week hiatus. I actually had only gained a total of 2 lbs, which isn't bad considering the pounds of chocolate I ate over Easter and the fact that for the last two weekends, I have eaten out at restaurants and did not go lo-cal in the slightest. So, only 2 lb weight gain isn't that bad, but it is a far cry from the 15 that I wanted to lose.

So tonight as we watched Daddy get ready for work, Jack came up to me and very coyly said "you want to go to Sonic". It was not a question. Jim said it was a Jedi Master mind trick thingy trying to get me to get in my car and drive us both to Sonic for a 3000 point dinner. Jack is the devil. And no, we did not drive to Sonic. (However we did 3 nights ago which spurred the getting back onto WW in the first place.) He is right now eating cereal for dinner. Ha! Now where is that ice cream :) hehe.

Stupid Easter

Why does every single holiday have to revolve around chocolate? And why can I not refuse it?

Here is a perfectly good religious holiday. It is a nice thing to celebrate Jesus being risen. But does it have anything to do with plastic eggs filled with diet-destroying candy? Ugh.

Can you tell that I blew my diet the past couple of days with the candy that I bought for Jack's Easter party at school tomorrow? My big weakness? The solid milk chocolate eggs. Yummm. Love to just let them melt in the mouth. Mmmmmm. Yes. I am pathetic. I know.

I have to weigh in tomorrow for Weight Watchers. Ha! THAT should be interesting since it has been two weeks because of Jack's sickness last week. Yeah. If you don't see the above ticker move, you can guarantee that I didn't lose weight at best, probably the other way. Sigh. Oh well. There is always next week right? Problem is there is still more chocolate in my house. Sigh.

Weighty Issues

I added a new ticker up there. The one counting down the weight loss that I NEED to do. I started in January on Weight Watchers and as of my weigh in yesterday, I have now lost 10lbs officially. The last few weeks I have not been so good on the diet. There was the trip back to Michigan and then Jack's birthday with the tons of birthday cake (really good cake thanks to Walmart) and tons of pizza left over from the party. But now back on track.

I have to say that I have probably lost in my lifetime a total of 100lbs. But I have gained 130 lbs. Not good math there. This time is the absolute slowest I have ever lost weight. "They" say that it good and that is the way to do it because it will stay off that way. However, it is frustrating. I at least wanted to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight (yes where I was FOUR years ago) before Jack's birthday, but that is another 13 lbs away. So now I am making that a goal before my birthday. The one where my age will start with a 4 and not a 3. I know that this is a long-haul type thing and I am in it for the long haul. Just wish the long haul would go faster ya know.

Back from The In-Laws

We went up to Grammy's and Aunt Ann's for the Super Bowl. Of course, it is a chance for Jack to get spoiled, fawned over, and become the center of attention for a few hours. In fact, Aunt Ann gets Jack going so much, that he was full-speed until 10:00 last night when the game ended. We spent the night at Grammy's house, where he did not want to go to bed. Between being totally wired and high on sugar and attention and the coughing from his cold, he did not get to sleep very easily last night.

Aunt Ann put on this HUGE superbowl feast. Seriously, the woman does not know how to scale back on the food. She could have invited the entire county to her party and fed them well. And every last morsel was fattening and way too good. Is it no wonder that I gained 10 pounds since moving here? I am happy to say that I have shed those pounds in the last month doing Weight Watchers, but now I need to shed another 50 or so. I just need to stay away from Aunt Ann's house because she is the devil with all her cooking.

Even though we were only gone for a day, it is always nice to get back home.
