Halloween!

Well today was a big day in the Jackaroo household. Not only was it Baptism Day, but it was also Halloween!! Jack was a pumpkin (isn't every baby a pumpkin their first year?). And I have to say he was a mighty cute one at that. His sister Laura was a Vampire and she was mighty scary! Her Dad tried to put her makeup on, but being a Dad and all, failed miserably at it. So I was called in as makeup artist recruit. I think she turned out pretty good as you can see in the pictures.

We all went out trick or treating and left a HUGE bowl of candy on the porch. Can I just say again HUGE bowl. Well, after about a half hour, Jack was getting really fussy so I walked back to the house and in that 30 mins some kids must of had a huge Halloween feast on our expense because the entire bowl was wiped out. I think there was 1 piece of bubble gum left. Okay, can I just say that is so rude!

But fun was had by all. And now it is time to try to get an over-stimulated baby to bed. We are currently on round 3 of trying at 8:30! Wish me luck.

Baptism Day

Today was Jack's big day. This morning, he was baptized at church. And of course, he charmed the entire congregation. He did really well and Pastor J.T. was ready for him. He has learned to take his glasses off BEFORE he picks up Jack. When the Pastor put the water over him, I heard him take a deep breath and I thought "oh boy here goes the scream". But he was a regular trooper and didn't cry at all. But I on the other hand was crying when I saw my little baby get baptized.

Laura also wanted to reaffirm her faith at the same time. So, after Jack was baptized, the pastor reaffirmed Laura's faith in front of everybody. Both her Dad and I were very proud of her for doing that.

As you can see in the pictures with Daddy, that Jack was quite the handsome young man for his baptism today.

We're Back Finally....

Sorry, it has taken so long to update this thing. Life has been kinda hectic lately. I have been sick for the last couple of weeks and with work and Jack, it has been very busy.

Jack has been a very busy boy. He has learned to crawl really really well! He basically can crawl around the house in about 2 minutes flat. He also has learned to stand up in his crib at night. I think he realizes that when he stands up, he has a better screaming advantage. Mommy and Daddy can hear Jackaroo screams much better when he is on his feet.

Speaking of night times. I think I can almost declare Jack sleeping through the night. Now, mind you, I hate to say it too loud for fear that the words will come back and bite me and he will start waking up every 2 hrs again. But having said that, he is sleeping so much better these days. He usually goes down anywhere between 7:30 and 9:00 at night. Of course this little feat of actually going to sleep can be quite challenging. Most nights, it is at least 2 or 3 rounds of putting the Jackaroo in his crib and tiptoeing out of the room only to hear the famous Jackaroo Scream 5 minutes later. However, once that little game is done and the boy has given up and gone to sleep, he does sleep most of the night with maybe one time waking up. I say all this with my fingers crossed of course.

Another new discovery by Jack is his tongue. The boy is enamored by his tongue. About a month ago, he started sticking his tongue out, rolling it and basically just having a good ole time playing with his tongue. Now the latest thing he has learned is making the clucking sound with his tongue. He can be doing anything, but if he hears Mommy or Daddy cluck their tongue then oh boy its time for a good old fashioned tongue clucking fest. He is so cute when he does that because he just thinks it is so funny and will just start laughing. Ahh the joys of a baby Jackaroo.

Big Weekend

Jack and Mommy travelled to Michigan this weekend to go see Grandma and Grandpa. It was quite an adventure. It was Jack's first plane ride and I have to say that he was quite the little trooper. He had his moments of fussiness, but for the most part Jack loved the experience. I think he rather enjoyed all the attention from the fellow passengers. He gave many gummy smiles to many people.

Mommy had her moments also of fussiness. Going through security with baby and baby gear alone is rather challenging. Then the airline lost the brand new stroller - probably sitting in Denver as we speak. But both Jack and Mommy made it to Michigan and back home in one piece.

Jack, of course was quite spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa. He was his charming little self for them. And somehow he charmed a new toy out of Grandma from the toy store.

Fun weekend was had by all.
