Jack slept in the toddler bed last night! I kinda figured if he spent the day playing on the thing, he would be more willing to actually sleep on the thing. I now know it was a mistake to set it up and plop him in it and expect the boy to actually sleep. Just a little advice to those who have not done the transfer yet. Small steps.
When we were getting ready for bed last night, I kept saying "big boy bed" and that got Jack saying it also. By the time it was time to actually go to bed, he was really excited about the whole thing. So we read some books while he laid in bed and then he went to sleep. I did check on him before I went to bed and he was sleeping with his legs dangling over the side, which did not look very comfy to me, but to each his own I guess. He must have gotten up to get his cars and took them back to bed with him, because that is how I found him this morning - sitting on the bed playing with the cars.
Right now he is napping on the big boy bed. We had a reprieve from cheerleading today because Laura's mother took her (yay! for her actually doing her mother job). We are going down tomorrow to watch her and then watch the award ceremony and then hopefully be back before the game starts (go Seahawks!).
Because we didn't have to go to the brain-numbing cheerleading competition, we went hiking this morning at the Santa Rosa Plateau. We probably hiked about 3 miles total and Jim ended up carrying Jack on his shoulders for about 2 of those miles. It was really fun to get out and enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise. It was a perfect day today for hiking. I think Jack enjoyed it for the most part, but at the end he was not a happy hiker. We pretty much made the boy exhausted - which is always a good thing.
