Almost a year ago, Jim was supposed to have surgery to have nasal polyps removed. He had it all scheduled and everything was good, until the day before the surgery. The doctor's office called and said that the hospital did not have a contract with our insurance company (news to us) and therefore it would probably cost us thousands of dollars if we went ahead with the surgery. Well of course, Jim cancelled it until further notice.
Now, we are in a new year with a new insurance company, who by the way has a contract with our hospital. So Jim schedules the surgery again. He had to go through all the tests and cat scans again and wouldn't you know it, same diagnosis. He needed to remove the nasal polyps so he could actually breath, which is very important I think. So it was supposed to be for this morning. We were supposed to be at the hospital at 6am this morning for a 7:30 surgery. I filled his prescriptions for Vicadin and antibiotics. By the way, geesh what does the doctor think giving him a bottle of 60 Vicadin with TWO refills! Are we druggies or what?
Anyway, back to the story. The doctor who was supposed to do the surgery was going to be out of town, so he turned it over to this other doctor named Dr. Larue I think. Well at 3:00 pm yesterday Jim gets a phone call from Dr. Larue saying that he can't perform the surgery because he hasn't been given license to perform surgery in THIS country!?! What the heck? I guess he is from Canada (french speaking cause could hardly understand him) and he just got to this country and did not know when he could perform surgery.
Soooo long story short, Jim is NOT getting his nasal polyps done today. He went to work as usual and we have no idea when it will be done. My question is, Is somebody trying to say something to him?
